The coach told Freddie that he was grooving a slower-than-optimum swing that way, which Freddie went on to explain as not just a slow swing but also a swing in which he dropped the club below the optimum plane line. Seems that Freddie had for years warmed up by taking really slow swings (hitting balls) with his sand wedge. last night (a re-run) talking about his swing coach telling him to discontinue his long-time warmup routine. The problem arises, if it does, when you start or continue practicing the "wrong thing." Fred Couples was on t.v. I don't have a swing radar, nor do I know anyone who does, but if it gets you to the range and keeps you interested in practicing, maybe that's not a bad thing. I can see both (if there are only two) sides on this issue.
